Yesterday and Coeur Terre

Yesterday...was a very bad day.

A local patriot family discovered that had God called their young child to Heaven and now they're left picking up the pieces.

Normally a topic like this would not appear in this email but this family desperately needs your prayers to help them get through this extremely dark time.

Because of the above situation I was unable to go to the CDA City Council meeting where they were discussing Coeur Terre rezoning/annexation for the final time before voting whether or not to move forward.

After a 5-hour meeting, the Coeur d'Alene City Council APPROVED the Coeur Terre rezoning and annexation, with a vote of 3-2, Wood and Gookin dissenting.

The main reason given by those approving this monstrosity is "we have a housing shortage and we need affordable housing." No mention of how this development, planned to have the first phase done in 8-12 years, will help with the housing shortage now, and no mention of how the impending economic collapse is going to affect housing and development.

Also, I hope this fight continues because the "local" Kootenai Development Company has its eyes set on the land directly west of Coeur Terre but that land is in Post Falls so everyone needs to be prepared for a MASSIVE development that covers Post Falls and Coeur d'Alene if it is not halted now. If someone in Post Falls wants to take the lead on the Post Falls portion of the fight, I can get you in contact with the people who took the lead on the Coeur d'Alene portion.

Lastly, the North Idaho College Board of Trustees meeting is tonight.

This is the first meeting after the board has filed a Motion for Reconsideration with the courts after Judge Cynthia Meyer reinstated Swayne as president while he is suing the board for placing him on administrative leave in the first place. If you have few minutes and like to know details I highly recommend reading the above Motion for Reconsideration, there are some interesting bits like:

I have all the sworn declarations from people in favor of this motion, some stating that Swayne was incorrect in his own sworn statements, so it's worth the read. I will be adding them to KCSpectator.com at some point but for now they are all available for download here. Read at your own leisure.

In the meantime, below you will find the agenda for tonight's 6pm meeting; I urge you to get there early as seats fill up fast. I hope to see you there.
