On July 27, 2023, Senate Resolution 326 was passed by the 118th Congress of the United States recognizing August 23, 2023 as National Poll Worker Recruitment Day. The resolution “recognizes the need for, and appreciation of, the service of poll workers and encourages eligible people to help America vote in the 2023 elections by serving as poll workers.”
Poll Workers must go through training prior to each election and are paid for both the training and for working on Election Day. Citizens are encouraged to visit the Kootenai County Elections website at www.kcgov.us/324/Poll-Workers for more information or to apply to be a poll worker for the 2023 November Election.
