I just got home from the elections office where I spent 17 hours watching ballots be counted until the final results could be tallied. I have been up for over 25 hours so I’m going to make this short and sweet: Kootenai County conservatives won BIG at the polls but lost in the state.
If the way you voted was like the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee suggestions, then you are doing a happy dance right now. Sorry for those that voted a different way.
It looks like Kootenai County did really well – and we DID – in the more local state elections.
For the statewide candidates, however, we lost and we last hard.
Here are the statewide results where we lost and you can decide for yourself if you agree.
One note, notice the race between Phil McGrane and Dorothy Moon came within 4,257 votes. Note how many votes Mary Souza received, essentially splitting the vote and ensuring that slimy Phil McGrane takes over the Election Integrity seat. Congratulations, Mary Souza, on following your ego instead of following your brain. SO GLAD that worked out for you.
I’m a little bitter about that race, and I’m just a tidbit tired, so I’m going to sleep for a few hours while you pour over the rest of the election results.
Overall, it was a happy election day.
Whats next?? Seems like statewide, there is no accomplishment? Whats happening here? If North Idaho continues to go blue, Idaho will continue in the downward spiral. So sad.
