Quality local news, where you want it, when you want it.
Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity, and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us.
Titus 2:7-8 ESV
In 2020 I started a mailer to help you get the real Kootenai County facts and since that time I have continued forward with a website. With our busy lives I know it's hard to figure out what's going on in Kootenai County, and if Facebook ever kicks us off for "offenses they deem worthy" we'll need a place to get our local news.
Here are the things I write about; I thought the priority of themes may change a bit after the 2020 election but it didn't-it's imperative that we keep up to date at all times of the year:
-
Local/County/State election information
-
Kootenai County Commissioners meetings
-
Coeur d'Alene, Post Falls, Athol, and Rathdrum City Council meetings
-
Town Halls
-
School Board updates - for School Districts #271, #272, & #273 and CDA Charter
-
Idaho State Legislature
-
Local/State events
-
All advisory board meetings through Kootenai County or any of the cities
-
Taxing Districts
-
Informational videos/articles from other states that prove relevant for Kootenai County and the state of Idaho
-
If you have other suggestions about what I should keep track of please let me know; if I get enough interest I'll definitely add it to the list!
I started this because the work doesn't end when the November election hits, it's where the real work begins. If we want to keep Idaho conservative we need to stay diligent and informed.
A little about me: I am a Christian, conservative woman who was 'forced' to be a stay at home mom when my job required masks, and when my kids' school 'forced' masks on their students to be able to step on campus. My kids are now homeschooled, btw. As the wife of a small business owner, I saw exactly how our liberties could be taken away when we weren't paying attention, and 2020 helped me understand my red line, my morals, my history, and it made me become even more Conservative than I've ever been before. The craziness of 2020 is why I decided to stand up and let my voice be heard. I am the Vice President of the Northwest Property Owners Alliance, a proud member of the Kootenai County Republican Women Federation, Republican party, the Society for Professional Journalism, Candlelight Christian Fellowship in Coeur d'Alene, and I have my fingers is many other projects but the afore mentioned group are the 'official' ones.
I also write exactly as I speak; I rarely use the AP Style Guide when I'm not thinking about it. I'm ok with this fact; in a world where everything has turned fluffy and questionable, it's refreshing to get straight up words every once in a while. <-- there's that AP Style Guide running for the hills again. :D
One thing to note: I believe that God needs to be put back into everything we do on a daily basis. Some of my posts could take a Christian tone, and I'm not going to apologize if you're offended. I promise I don't do it maliciously, we just all need Jesus back in our lives. :) <3
I hope that you will find these website informative and if you are signed up for email I will try to not spam your email with all the information I have found. I know we are all extremely busy and I'll keep the emails to the point so you get the info you need quickly.
